Hyundai Skid Steer & Compact Track Loader Financing: Inside the HS120V and HT100V Comeback Lineup

Compact loaders don't sit idle on a jobsite for long — they're grading, backfilling, running a grapple or a mulcher head, and moving material in tight spaces a larger machine can't reach. If your crew is still renting a skid steer or track loader every time a job calls for one, you're paying premium week-to-week rates for a machine class that's actually one of the most financeable, resale-friendly pieces of equipment on a jobsite.

Hyundai's Return to the Compact Loader Market

Here's the honest story on Hyundai's current skid steer and compact track loader lineup: Hyundai built skid steers years ago under the older HSL650-7 and HSL850-7 line, Tier 2-era machines with fairly basic hydraulics and controls by today's standard. Hyundai then stepped away from the North American compact loader segment for an extended stretch before re-entering in 2023 with two all-new models, the HS120V skid steer and the HT100V compact track loader, and has continued expanding the lineup since — adding the smaller HS80V skid steer and new HT30 and HT38 compact track loaders through 2025 and 2026. Rather than a clean one-to-one predecessor swap, this is a full-lineup relaunch, and it's worth being straightforward about that instead of pretending there's a direct generational replacement: the HS120V and HT100V represent a ground-up modern platform compared to the old HSL-series machines, not an incremental update to them.

What the New Platform Actually Buys You

The HS120V skid steer runs a 54.9 kW (73.6 hp) engine, an operating weight around 3.7 metric tons, and a rated tipping load near 1,220 kg (about 2,690 lbs) with dual-speed travel up to 19.8 km/h — noticeably quicker moving between work areas than older single-speed compact loaders. The HT100V compact track loader steps up to a 4.4 metric ton operating weight with a rated operating capacity around 1,490 kg (roughly 3,285 lbs) and twin-speed travel motors. Compare that to the old HSL850-7's Tier 2, more basic hydraulic architecture, and the difference isn't just emissions compliance — it's continuous-flow, high-flow auxiliary hydraulics that let today's machines run demanding attachments like mulcher heads, cold planers, and augers that the older platform simply wasn't built to power efficiently. The newer HT30, aimed at residential and landscaping contractors, adds a pressurized cab with an 8-inch display, air-suspension seat, and speed-sensitive ride control — comfort and control features that reduce operator fatigue across a full day of grading or landscaping work.

Who Benefits Most

General contractors handling site cleanup and material handling, landscaping and hardscaping crews, land-clearing operations running grapples or mulching attachments, and utility/underground contractors backfilling trenches in tight access areas are the natural fit for this class of machine. If you're already comparing compact loader brands, it's worth putting Hyundai's relaunched lineup side by side with the established players — see how it stacks up against Bobcat's skid steer lineup or how Bobcat and Kubota compare to understand where Hyundai's specs land in the broader compact equipment field.

The Rent-vs-Own Reality for Compact Equipment

A skid steer or CTL is exactly the kind of machine that gets rented over and over because contractors assume it's "too small" to finance — but that logic costs you the most over time precisely because these machines get used on nearly every job. A few seasons of rental fees on a compact loader adds up to more than the machine's own value, and at the end of it you're back to renting again for the next job with nothing to show. Financing turns that same monthly spend into equity in a machine you keep, can put to work on the next three jobs without a new rental agreement, and can trade in or resell down the line.

Financing the Hyundai Lineup Through BFC

Hyundai's relaunched HS and HT series gives contractors a modern, high-flow compact loader option worth financing rather than renting job after job. Renting one for a season can run you thousands of dollars that build nothing for your business — the machine goes back to the yard at the end of the job and you own exactly nothing to show for it. Financing or leasing-to-own puts those same payments toward an asset you actually keep, can resell when you're ready to upgrade, or borrow against for the next piece of equipment. And unlike a lender who tells you to wait five-plus years until one machine is paid off before they'll talk about the next one, BFC can help structure funding for your next piece of equipment while you're still paying down this one, because our job is helping your business grow, not just collecting a payment book.

Apply for equipment financing today, or if you're not ready to finance new, browse BFC's own equipment inventory for machines ready to work now. And if you've got a used machine sitting idle, BFC lists contractor equipment for sale for free — no commission, real buyers — through that same equipment-for-sale page.
